The Madhouse

Welcome. What you see before you is the Crazy Grapes asylum. Probably the building that has undergone the biggest transformation in history. In its early days it was home to the most wanted and dangerous serial killers. Later, thanks to the grapes and Monastrell vineyards that grew around it, the asylum became a magical place.

Vlad was Prince of Wallachia, Romania. He was known for his extreme cruelty in battle. In fact, it was precisely these ruthless episodes that later gave rise to the legend of Count Dracula.

ELABORATION

Hand harvesting at the optimum ripening time. Fermentation and skin maceration for 15-20 days at a controlled temperature no higher than 28°C. The fermentation is carried out in a jacketed stainless Steel tank that allows constant temperatura control.

TASTING NOTE

Look: Deep garnet with violet rim

Nose: Powerful and intense ripe fruit aroma with hints of wood. Reminiscence of spicy and smoky notes that enhance the taste of Monastrell.

Taste: Well balanced and round tannins. Ripe black fruit notes are perfectly integrated with lightly toasted aromas. A long finish with a juicy acidity is working together harmoniously.

FOOD PAIRING

Perfect with barbecued meats and vegetables. Ideal with all kinds of pasta, cold meats, cheeses and rice dishes.

COLLECTION 3 MONTHS

ELABORATION

Grapes handpicked from the best plots of vines to express the taste of the grapes in their most optimal way. Manual harvesting. Maceration and fermentation were carried out at a controlled temperature, never exceeding 26°C, and with skin contact in stainless tanks lasted for 15/25 days.

TASTING NOTE

Look: Deep Purple color typical of its youth.

Nose: Floral notes with hints of vanilla and balsamic background. Dark fruit aromas on the nose carry an earthy undertone.

Taste: On the palate, it feels full, chewy, and dense, but lively enough to be enjoyable. It tastes a bit blackened and smoky, with clove and chocolate notes resting heavily on a plump finish.

FOOD PAIRING

Ideal for salads, red meat, lamb, and fish. Perfect with pasta and cheeses.
